Hi, I’m Jonathan. Nice to meet you. Since a young age, I’ve had a hard time doing things that I don’t want to do.
I dropped out of high school (I went to college instead to take classes I was actually interested in). I dropped out of the typical life-template. And I dropped out of the 9-5 to get paid to be me.
I started my blog Illuminated Mind to help others on their path, because I realized what we often view as “collective wisdom” is merely a big, collective assumption. I’ve also found out that a lot of ideas I thought were crazy and counter-intuitive actually produced the best results. It’s these non-standard strategies that I am most interested in. The edges of life tend to fascinate me the most.
In case you’re wondering, I don’t have any formal qualifications that make me any more of an “expert” on personal growth than the next person. I don’t have a degree in psychology or philosophy. I’m not on the New York Times Best-Seller list.
In the past year, though, I have managed to change a lot. Most of all, I’ve aligned my heart and mind and reclaimed my dreams. I’ve tapped into my authentic self to follow my own uncommon sense.
I want to show you that you can follow your heart and be grounded. You can have wings and roots. Most of all, you can live your dreams and do what you love.

The editor comments: Jonathan Mead is an extremely creative and productive person. He seems to have a real talent for helping others find the awesomeness in themselves. His latest project is called the DOJO: a guide to doing what matters. To introduce you to the DOJO Jonathan asks this one simple question: “What if One Small Shift Could Make You Five Times As Productive, This Week?” If the implications of this question interest you then you should probably continue reading.
